8mm Teufelberger HRC Thermashield

I have found that I can get away with 1 less wrap on my michoacan with the 8mm. I was once frustrated with the grabby-ness and semi binding, but once I made the adjustment it was mint. The only real issue I have had with a older HRC cord was that it would have some memory and on ascent the coils would remian larger then the rope diameter. Just needs to be manually set the first time and then good to go again

Yeah, I started doing that, too, after I saw @rico using HRC with the wrench. I've only used that setup (RW and 24" HRC 8mm sewn eye cord) with KM-III MAX, so I have no idea how it performs in any other setup. I actually use the hitch turned around, opposite from how it's shown tied on tutorial videos, which I believe is called the Guatamalan Reverse Llama-Duck Intentional Haircut Hitch or something else equally silly.

As I lighter climber I love the 8mm hitch cord... Allows me to use less wraps on my hitch which lends to a quicker hitch that tends better, but the smaller 8mm cordage still bites right away, even with less wraps...I run the HRC on everything from 11mm HTP, 11.7 Ivy, and 12-13 mm 16 strand... Performs wonderfully on all....

I have listed the rest of the 8mm Thermashield in the Treebay section along with some other stuff for those interested. I have about 40' left.

Mark, when did the HRC change from 10.5 to 8 mm? I had bulk HRC that I was sure was 10 mm and when I wanted more I was told it was 8 mm and always had been. I know the sales people may have always seen 8 mm since they were involved, but maybe they didn't go back far enough. It was definitely still New England Ropes when I got it, not yet bought by Teufleberger.

thanks
