I'm an avid contributor to chat. I love this environment. Forums are where there is more exclusive discussion than youtube. I'd actually rather interact with people than watch videos. I am giving back to the internet what it has given to me. Here are two angles to click-bait: one is wholesome whereas you've provided backup to your impression, the other is where you have not. Youtube has tackled the problem of click-bait and its hollowness by having content creator to acquire viewing hours (and subscribers) as opposed to view counts. One of the three major components mentioned universally in the channel assistance information sphere is that you have catchy thumbnails. As you've noticed, many videos have facial expressions, arrows, questions, half sentences and "$%#@ hit the fan" suggestions. Even news articles on the internet have adopted this type of luring in their headlines. as they have noticed that youtube and such have dominated internet media. Another part of the formula for gaining attention is posting to social media. I believe in the principle of live and let live. Thanks for watching guys.
