394 better than the 660?

I just used a friends older and well used 394 yesterday to make several cuts and I was blown away by the power and how well it cut. I have a 660 that is running a 32" bar and occasionally, if I am getting greedy, I can stop the chain in the cut. I have very little experience with the Husky line of saws so I did not know what to expect when I ran my friend's 394 and WOW. What a cuttin' saw. He had a 36" bar on it and I started cutting and taking it easy so not to stop the chain. As I continued to cut, I realized it was out cutting my 660 and it had a 36" bar, not a 32" like mine. I put it pretty hard into the wood and it didn't stop. We were cutting a large ash that was about 66" at the base, so it was a good cutting test with a good hardwood. Has anyone else run both of these saws before? I'm wondering if the 660 should or shouldn't keep up with the 394. Maybe my 660 needs to be tuned? Both saws are stock and my friend's saw is probably lacking severely in maintenance and it still whooped my 660. What about the newer 395? Will kit run as good as the 394? Does the lack of a side chain tensioner on the 395 bother anyone?

IMO the 394 and 395 are both a little stronger than the 660. Not by a ton but in bigger wood they have a slight edge. Maybe the 660 does need a tune.

yep. i just bought a 394xp off ebay. from a saw tech in oregon. its a sweeet friggen saw. and compared to my uncles 395xp its a bit gruntier. the saw seems to have WAY more torque and a zippier throttle. that also could be do to the fact that the rings on he 394 are 1.5mm and the ones on the newer EPA standard 395's are 1.2mm.
