3:1

Noticed you wrapped the rope around your hands to gain purchase. Imagine the consequences of this practice had it occured in the 'rope burn' video! I've seen photos of what can happen... skeleton hands.

Good point! All though Ive done this many times(and will probably do it again), I tend not to do it when theres a chance of the rope hanging up or the piece im pulling suddenly going the other way

You can set up a 3:1 with the Mini Traxion and you wouldn't have to worry about a skeleton hand. I used to use my Mini Traxion to pull trees over all of the time, until I got the GRCS.

nice vid, speaking of the traxion its in my x-mas list of things to get. Thats a good bounce we has one today that just sat down and didn't do anything it was a good sized spar and was totally unimpressive to the college kids watching. I blame the rain!

Get two Traxions!

I understand why you wouldn't want to mix your rigging gear with climbing gear. So, if you had two, one could be used for pulling trees over and the other for your SRT. They are good for 2,200lbs. So, pulling a tree over is not going to max that thing out. (As long as the circumstance permits it). The attachment example may be a little too much (over time) for the little Traxion .

Thats a tree for the GRCS!

I prefer to use a 5/1 VT for progressive rope capture in most of my set-ups... just not in the one in the vid, lol

Another MT would be a good addition to my ever growing list of things to get next time im at vermeer

I recently started using mine to pull down the trigger on my bigshot. Got it with my REI divedend a few years back and have found alot of uses for it since.
