Looking at a vermeer stump grinder w trailer. last auction one went for 4500$'s it also had a trailer. this one is a 2006 auto sweep. the motor is going to need replaced. it has a miss and blows smoke. A new motor is going to cost 2000$. What would you give for it? it looks as good as a used one could look. dont know about the hours

Check the jackshaft bearings and the sweep pivot for wear. the jackshaft bearings are not a huge deal but the sweep pivot is MAJOR if it wasn't greased. I'd say 1500-2000 or so if its in good shape. I bought mine for $4500 with 1100 hrs trailer and duals in real good shape.

We got ours from United Rental. It is a 2005 with about 700 hrs I believe and it needed nothing. We bought it last year for $5k with trailer. We have used the thing a ton and have had no.problems with it. I would look harder and find a good used one that is ready to go.
