How does a climber get to compete in the international competition as a member at large? I thought that only chapter champions were permitted to compete.

Who are you referring to ? Our climber did win the UK&I chapter finals in Guildford last month.

Not trying to ruffle any feathers. Just asking a question. I did notice that one of the climbers was listed as a member at large. I also saw that he finished in the top 10. So I think he was more than qualified.

I dunno about that mate, i'm kinda new to all the comp scene stuff myself. I know that Phillipa Allen and Jon Turnball both won at the UKI Finals.

a isa member who's country of residence does not have a isa chapter, but has competted in and placed in a relevant comp.

Member at large, this is how part of it works sort off....
You life in another country, but still pay your dues to the chapter of your the country in which you are from e.g. UK/I and the ISA will clash you as a member at large as they send you Arb News to the country in which you are living in at present.
The person in question that we are refering to, may hopefully explain this a little further maybe? I say no more as I do know the man in question.
