So I love the Stihl 192 TC. For the money its been nothing but amazing. Anybody running the 193 TC? I hear they are not as good as the 192's. Thoughts?

The 193 is a step backwards as far as I'm concerned. I sent 2 back to the shop for NO oiling with in the first week. The new air boxes break apart if the saw gets jamed in a crotch. I would be hunting down 192s if I didn't already have too many climbing saws.

We've never been able to get the 192s yo last more than 2 years, tops.

I've got a 192 going on five years. Totally dependable and predictable. I run a skinny tipped bar on it and love it for pruning. Anything big, go to 200.
Couple co workers now running the 193 as pruning saw...seems random but some of those run like marbles and some roar. Seems like that out of the box.

We've got 150s, 192, 193, and 201s . The 193s we have will run like a scalded ape. They're leaps and bounds better than the older 201s. By far better than the 192s we have.

My mod'd 192 is something like 8 years old, bought it used, still running great. I have a new 193, out of the box crap throttle response, working on the mod now, advancing the timing etc.
