10 mm Bee-Line

I have a feeling this topic may have been discussed already. Anyone have any input on splicing 10mm Bee-line or simply using a double fishermans. Is the splice a class 1 or 2 double braid splice?
Throw me some input please!
Thanks

10mm Beeline... it annoys me that 10mm Beeline has 3/8" polyester core with a Technora blend jacket and 8mm Beeline has a 6mm Vectran core and a jacket with a different Technora blend.

The 10mm splice is double braid, class 2 I guess since the jacket is hi-mod.

The 8mm splice is totally different, locked Brummel of the core and whip stitch the jacket down.

Why do they call them both Beeline?

Yale recommends the class 1 splice. The core is polyester, and there is enough polyester in the cover to keep the splice together.

It is weird that the 2 ropes have the same name though they are different in many ways.
