Minimum Breaking Strength - am I the only one who is confused?
The regs say that ropes used for life support must have a minimum breaking strength of 5,400 lbs. So, what exactly does that mean? The International Cordage Institute Testing Standards say that MBS is equal to 2 standard deviations less than the mean. On page 30 in "On Rope" they say that MBS...- ARLO
