I haven't noticed the Salsco being thirsty compared to our other diesel things. The internet this morning saids 1-1.5 gallons per hour depending on usage for 35hp Kubotas.
I used it once to tug jet sleds of trunk rounds up a hill with a tag line and redirect and it worked great. Certainly not a replacement for the awesome versatility of a mini though.
Agreed, the single roller and no lift/crusher are both a bummer for sure. You of course adapt to avoid overloading it and angle cut larger logs just like any more basic 6” setup, but the diesel power really makes it feel more able than other small models out there.

It has similar abilities to our mini skid and even with 60% life left in the tracks it has done pretty well in not getting stuck. Fits through small gates, but certainly has its tipping limits on anything off-camber.
