    If I'm buying/building a brand new truck I'm not going to ghetto it up with some homemade plywood chip box. I think $15k sound like a good guess. My luck with aluminum things that vibrate a lot is not good and alum is much harder to fix.

    18XP is the same as the 1590XP not the older 1590 which was a 15" chipper, once they added the XP the capacity went up by 2-3 inches which is why they changed the model names as to not confuse us tree guys.

    I currently have a older 1590. Bandit changed their models recently to actually tell you the capacity (unlike the older ones where a 1390XP was a 15" and 1590XP was either a 17" or 18".

    Bandit chipper repair in Boulder County CO.

    From my experience both Vermeer and Global (bandit) suck as far as service goes along the front range. Not sure if it’s lack of good mechanics or they don’t care.
