This tree top hollow starts at 34 ft above the ground. It is large enough to facilitate a rappel down inside the tree all the way to the soil below.

I think if you could combine the capstan and drive gears from the Atlas, and the "currently" more affordable and green, low emissions gasoline powered engine. We might have a better way to access any vertical problem (situation dependent of course) But there's still the drawbacks of the noise...

This little gem has been on my wish list for years now. Not sure what I would use it for but I know I'd find a good use for it. Like me I'm sure a few of you guys could tie it into a M-rig or Re-D system. Thoughts???
The " little plastic thingy " that you are referring too is an integral part of the DMM Belay Master carabiner. I've never seen a universal or retro-fit piece like it available, and the carabiner only comes in screw or auto-locking gate options as far as I know. Corner traps, or Blue Bandit...
