Understood however you'd likely miss netting a buddies trophy fish boat-side.. C'mon amigo I need to knock you down a branch lol. No joke I was a crane operator who was scared of heights and I was the best they had for 7 years until I quit. Height tolerance for humans can really vary. It's...

    Anyone still purchasing cranes?

This Spartan was 63 years old up in this tree when I took this picture. Physically as solid as a rock but he was crazy as a wild horse. After the job was done he downed 5 beers in 10 minutes.

    Anyone still purchasing cranes?

Here is a picture from last year of a removal that took place over my small cottage. I was sweating buckets but at the end of it all he also took my boat lift out for free which saved my back and 1.5 hours lol.

    Anyone still purchasing cranes?

Hi everyone this section of the forum used to be banging. I know things have been pretty upside down the last few years but has anyone purchased any cool equipment the last couple of years? I'd love to see your setup. I don't care if it's a knuckle-boom, spider crane, stiff-crane or man-basket...

How do you turn down work?

Always be honest and professional and you will always walk away with your chin up and sleep well at night. My industry is a little different however if I'm not the guy for them I've actually referred competitors in the past. 1 or 2 deals a year is not going to make or break me since I've done...

    Recession?

Thank you very much for your brutal honesty Steve. I sell a lot of drywall cranes and those crane sales recently have almost come to a stand still. I always use the drywall industry as a first alert indicator as to what the economy is doing. No drywall sales is not a good signal. I get it's...

    Recession?

I appreciate the feedback. Like I said I've been doing this for approximately 25+ years and I've never seen things so messy. One of the big issues is the delay in truck chassis. Something that was promised in 8 months is showing up many months later. It completely throws any sort of...

    Recession?

I'm sure you're a solid company amigo if you're fully booked. In my industry as I'm sure in yours word of mouth and referrals mean something.

    It's the economy dummy!

Thanks for the responses. Just a note that all deposits are returned to the customers after their equipment sells to someone else.

    It's the economy dummy!

Hey guys many of you are aware I sell cranes and heavy equipment for a living. During Covid I had never sold as much equipment in such a short period of time, it was absolutely crazy. There are many reasons for why that happened however this is not what this post is about Today things are...

    Recession?

Hi guys as many of you are aware I sell cranes for a living. I am a former crane operator and have been selling cranes for 25+ years. During Covid lock-downs the unexpected happened and business increased by 5 fold for a full 3 years. It was was completely stupid and unexpected. Today we are...

Do you think this may be why Grapple Saw Knuckle Boom Cranes are getting popular?

Thanks Steve. Guys my apologies if I created some friction here. My post was meant to create some discussion in this forum that has been a bit quite lately. I stirred the crap a bit. For the record I do believe that you do not need a giant grapple saw to fit your needs or any grapple saw for...

Do you think this may be why Grapple Saw Knuckle Boom Cranes are getting popular?

I see where you are going with this. If I find any grapple saw failure videos I will happily share them with you Tom. I promise but it may take awhile compared to the old way of commercial tree removal failures. You seem a bit salty on the new tech amigo.

Do you think this may be why Grapple Saw Knuckle Boom Cranes are getting popular?

Sorry Tom did not mean to offend you. I thought I was posting in the crane forum. And for the record YES there are many, many people in North America that have ripped the sawhead off a K-boom or broken the last extension on their crane with very serious damages and expenses. The twist on the...

Do you think this may be why Grapple Saw Knuckle Boom Cranes are getting popular?

Agreed it's a low branch (pun intended), but as a guy who sells this equipment it's a pretty good sell video. I know it sounds douchey but facts are facts. If you have a proper setup and do small cuts nothing like this will ever happen with a grapple saw setup. It's so much safer and efficient.
