I pay about $500/year for Inland Marine coverage on all of my equipment. It covers saws, climbing, rigging, heavy equipment, and most other things. If it's lost, stolen, damaged in an accident, catches on fire, floods, etc. I'll get a check. The peace of mind is totally worth $500 to me.
Thanks for the input. I've decided on a mini skid and will be purchasing a Vermeer CTX100. If I need an excavator or big machine they are much easier and cheaper to rent than a mini.
My plan is to purchase a machine within the next 30-45 days. I am just starting my business and taking some strain off my body is top priority. I want to limit moving brush and wood by hand as much as possible. I'm on the fence between excavator and mini skid. Could those of you who have...

These are both stupid strong in basket configuration...
I use my spliced end for the basal tie. Then I can pull it up and it’s on top of the climbing device ready to double rope to advance a tie in. Then I set a canopy anchor at my chosen tie in.

I’m fortunate enough to be able to borrow a portable winch like the one you are looking at, when I need it. It is a huge labor and back saver. Yes, sometimes it can be done by hand quicker, but I would rather save my body.
I’m just using it when working by myself, or in a team of two when doing...
I currently have the regular Sena SMH10 and it works fine, although durability of the various wired is less than stellar. I’m thinking about upgrading. Do any of you have any experience with the new seat generation of MESH Senas? Are they worth the extra money? What about the Tuff Talk series...
I am starting to work pretty consistently for myself (4-5 days per month on top of my full time gig) and would like get into doing some contract work. The insurance companies I have looked at either have pretty high yearly minimum or won’t even call me back. Where can I find GL that will cover...
