I see. The website gave me the option of sizing and my backpad has a small number 2 stamped above the 'designed by Matt C.' stamp on the right side. I'm not sure if the size ones have a 1 stamped there.
I've only done a few short climbs on it as I finished splicing it up today, so I'll have to report back on the rigging plate protruding into the back pad. That said I chose the plate in an attempt to get more support so I'm hoping that I can feel it a little bit. I too have a med pack on my MCRS...
Lol, I figured someone would give me shit about the rigging hub on the back... I figure if I need to I can just untie it in the tree and use it for some controlled speed lining or something ;). Compliments on the splicing very much appreciated. As Rico said previously, that Samson rope is super...
I was able to splice the components for my first rendition of the rope saddle using the Valiant pads. Thanks too @rico for showing the different variations of how to tie it up, I went with his recent version of splicing to the hip rings and going from there. This has been and will continue to be...
Good call on the conservative approach and looking for a stronger line! Also, is your rope always stored in a bag away from gas, oil & wood chips and is kept out of the sunlight most of the time (UV degradation)? If not, you might want to start your equation at say 4000-4500 lbs(?)...For all of...
Approaching tensile strength on a static pull gives me pause unless I know (and have been present for) every load applied to the rope being used. I will always opt for a seemingly larger than necessary double braid line for any critical pull as cycles-to-failure is something I often think about...
I'm most excited about the infusion of cash that PRE will bring to the table to help the company grow. We consumers may also reap benefits such as a more diverse product offering, lower costs & more stability in stock levels as Sherrill learns different ways to flex their market share by...
I like your optimistic approach! I believe PRE's goal is to generate risk-adjusted returns for their investors by growing revenue (increasing margins/increasing productivity) via strengthening Sherrill's existing (and potential) relationships & instituting lean manufacturing/continuous...
@joezilla11 Voyager/Tangent was also my fav line (save for the picking) before I picked up the Drenaline. I'd say the bounce is the same when comparing the two lines.
@swingdude well said, to each their own...
@Barc Buster lol I'm not above taking a commission... but seriously I'm just a rope nut. Happy to be among friends on this useful site.
