Sherrill Tree is Sold to Investment Co.

They might as well call them the men's department and the women's department. They don't have a single female director.
Just pointing this out here, but in order for equality to actually exist, you have to offer jobs to the qualified individuals, regardless of their race/gender/shoe size/whatever. The number of women dedicating themselves to their careers, especially the sort of long hours/high stress jobs that lead to being a director, are (both traditionally and now, albeit to a lesser extent) far less than the men who do so. I'm not saying that they couldn't, but that as a matter of personal preference on the part of the workers the pool is about 10 to 1. That can lead to some estrogen light boards through no immoral or even questionable practices at all, and things aren't equal by any stretch. It looks good to be progressive and have an assortment of genitals of all colors and arrangements, maybe to such a great extent that a company like that might even trade a small amount of competence for the presence of such variety.

"Platte River Equity" buys Sherrill from "Generation Equity" ... I'm not seeing any news. BAU.
I didn’t want to be the one to burst the bubble. Sherrill hasn’t been owned by Tobe for quite some time. And I’m willing to bet most posting here have no idea where most of their gear is manufactured. I can make a pretty safe bet that the company location ain’t where things are manufactured.

Well I just received the rest of my black Friday order, today! I'm not the guy from facebook that was mentioned earlier. I was really starting to wonder if I was going to get what I paid for. I had an in stock item that was missing parts of a kit. This is the second time in a row this has happened.

I agree but a lot of gear has the manufactured locale stamped on the device. Which is becoming very deceiving in recent times to my knowledge. I'm starting to think that if you don't build it you self then you don't know 100%.

I doubt anyone in the world is more aware of the issues we have than me. I’ve been on the front line at treestuff for 5 years.

I’ve openly acknowledged our shortcomings on stock and responsiveness many times in print and with the numerous customers I’ve spoken to directly on the phone, when they call me and talk to me face to face.

We are working feverishly to get more stock and it shows in our on time fill rates, NPS ratings and plenty of other metrics that we track very closely.

As I’ve said hundreds if not thousands of times, if anyone has individual or broader scale customer concerns they can call, text or email me... anytime.

Let me rephrase, you've openly acknowledged your shortcomings and other problems but you never seem to be sincerely apologetic in any of your posts, you're mostly snide and defensive.
You always claim to be working to feverishly to address the problems but they persist.
For example from all the back from Jul 17, 2018 ...
Hey folks, Appreciate the feedback. I completely acknowledge that we’ve had some challenges staying in stock on some high-demand items. Plus certain high-profile brands have had supply issues that have caused them to fulfill our orders late.

Not to worry, we are feverishly working on getting the inventory levels up to full capacity!
Hope this will be addresses with the new investments.

Correct and in that time, while our business has grown
-in-stock levels have INCREASED
-on time and in full orders have INCREASED
-backorders have DECREASED
-Net promoter score has INCREASED
-Customer messaging is more accurate
-etc

We won’t ever stop trying to improve, but the suggestion that we’ve done nothing or that we aren’t improving every day, is false.

I made absolutely no suggestions in my posts other than it's seems to be taking a heck of a long time to improve on the issues.
Like I said, above "you never seem to be sincerely apologetic in any of your posts, you're mostly snide and defensive."
Your attitude seems to be the larger problem and negatively impacts opinions about you and Treestuff.
Maybe you should work on that first if you want pissed off customers to come back around.

I know some people on the Buzz have had problems with @bonner1040 but the dude picks up his own phone for me - a small-time operator - and TS generally follows through when they are able to. I've had one problem where an item was lost track of, and one problem where an inquiry into large bracing drill bits was extended and then fizzled out. The rest were just back ordered stuff and I could call for an update or adjust my order as needed. Those things may affect where I take my business for thos or that, but I don't personally understand the Nick bashing thing, especially because he makes himself so available in spite of the treatment he receives on the Buzz.

I'll second that, Colb. I've known Nick for years and he has always treated me with respect and honesty. I'm a nobody, don't spend thousands a year on tree tools. I have been appreciative of his help and friendship. He had nothing to gain but I certainly benefited in many ways.

For what's it's worth...

I've talked to Nick in person awhile back, the subject of this forum came up, I got the impression he is aware that sometimes he comments don't come off the best but to me he seemed like he has had the best intentions.

Nobody is perfect, but I'd rather have someone stick out their neck and give opinions than hear nothing at all.

I'm most excited about the infusion of cash that PRE will bring to the table to help the company grow. We consumers may also reap benefits such as a more diverse product offering, lower costs & more stability in stock levels as Sherrill learns different ways to flex their market share by requiring manufacturing partners/brands to meet minimum qualifications (basic supplier line review). I say this only because I have recent experience with a similar situation in a different industry. It's also worth noting that Sherrill probably interviewed PRE along with multiple other firms and agreed on PRE as the best cultural fit for their company...so the assumption that PRE is a corporate machine that does not know or respect our industry may not be accurate as PRE is probably relying on Sherrill's current senior leadership to continue to be experts in the arb industry.
