I grew up Racoon (coon) hunting and one piece of advice is don't under estimate them and don't ever try to grab one. There is no way to grab one without getting tore up. They usually won't challenge a human, but if they feel trapped or that there kittens are in danger they will become absolutely...
You are correct Tim thanks for catching that. I was so excited about going out to the garage and trying a new friction hitch that I got myself confused. I am going to eat a little lunch and head to the tree and try the Knut in real life action.
This is a great topic, I am heading to the garage to try a knut. One thing I have noticed in my limited climbing is that the weather makes a big difference in how my hitch acts. I started using 10 mm armor prus on Blue Moon rope and that helped a lot. I noticed in very dry conditions it...
Once again thanks for the welcomes guys. Cut n Fly I only have small blocks of time I can get on here due to my schedule so I shouldn't turn too many pages. As far as equipment I CAN'T STOP! lol
Hi Tom
Thanks for the welcome. Please forgive me I am not real familiar with discussion boards. What do you mean by go back into the archives to fill in the gaps?

Thank You Tim
I have already picked up some tips from the discussions I have read. As far as climbing gear I have acquired more than I ever intended to. Every piece I buy I believe will be my last one, then as soon as I start using it I think of something else I "should" have. I think I have a...
Hello everyone. I have been reading post for a little while and decided to sign up. I just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. I am not very familiar with forums so I might make some mistakes, but TreeBuzz looks like a great place to learn and share.
As others have already mentioned I also tie them into a daisy chain. Something else I do that helps me out is mark the size on them with a black marker in numerous places. I carry a few different lengths and this helps keep me from unraveling the wrong one.
