    Good story, here is another one. I have a friend who burns wood exclusively in a 200 plus year farmhouse; his brother made a decent splitter with an old Tecumsah engine and a beer keg! I dropped it at the shop for him and they said the engine was too far gone.

    Ideally when the wood is in a line and stacked, a cord with a good hydraulic unit will take 2 hours or so. Since a cord is a stacked measure, it's very hard to know until someone stacks it. There is an application on a smartphone someone mentioned but it costs, to pin down cordage.
