    Avant loader throttle?

I had to tighten the discharge adjustment lever friction on my blower (same concept as the throttle), worked a treat, didn't take much extra squeeze.

    Avant loader throttle?

The lever probably has a pinch bolt to adjust friction.

Where to have business name plasma cut in rear steel of bucket truck

Why cut the structural steel instead of adding a thin piece over the top, perhaps with contrasting color painted behind it or make it a glow box behind it? I assume the plate is permanently attached to the truck? There are portable plasmas that could still work, but I still think you’re...

Where to have business name plasma cut in rear steel of bucket truck

I was gonna say fiber laser is what the plasma cutter was a couple decades ago.

Where to have business name plasma cut in rear steel of bucket truck

Well, perhaps. I more meant they're super prevalent these days, especially if you just need to cut thin gauge material.

Where to have business name plasma cut in rear steel of bucket truck

Check Facebook marketplace, plasma tables are everywhere, cutting thin material is easy. I rarely use it, but even I have a 100 amp 4x8’ table.

    Chipper drum failure

What if he puts 1k hours on the chipper with no issue? 500 hours? 100 hours? 2k hours?

Can I convert my GMT035 TTC into a standard dogbone style?

What are the caveats? If it’s not locked, won’t it free swing? Post a picture of the top of the rotator plus the ttc part, if you could find a link, all you’d need to do is cap the ttc hose that locks up the joints, afaik.

    mini grapples.

I run a root grapple (not root rake grapple with the short tines) to make it easier to see the engagement with the ground (or preventing the engagement) to "rake" debris if doing tree work. I have thought about getting a bucket grapple at some point, but as best I remember, I've never owned a...

    Battery explosions

I can't recall seeing any problems with tool grade batteries (Milwaukee is what I use) causing problems. Construction workers are harder on their tools than tree guys, on the average. Also the construction industry uses far more tools/batteries than the tree industry, so considerably more...

    Bevel buddy

Is anyone using a Bevel Buddy on a high hp, machine fed chipper? I'm still new to chipping for production so I'm developing my ideas of how I want to handle it. The middle knives take the most beating, but sometimes the love gets spread around. With the chips in the edge it seems like any...

    Bevel buddy

From your picture, Bevel Buddy sharpens the B side, or the back side of the knife, not the side that is sharpened from the factory or sharpening service. Merle's tool is just like the Accusharp you posted, except it only has one carbide blade and it sharpens side A/the factory sharpened side...

    Bevel buddy

For sure, I thought 100 hours sounds remarkably great! I was thinking about getting the garden sharpener based on your results, but decided it would likely be a lot of work for us. I’ve thought about using a grinder and flap wheel, the knives are accessible, but so far I haven’t.

    Bevel buddy

The scale is a bit different, but I feel good to get 15-20 hours out of a cutting edge with no touchups.

    Reputable chainsaw tuner

I think Kevin built all of the gas saws we normally use, I started using him from a referral from a buddy in MT.

Tree related work you shouldn't need insurance for?

The idea that liability insurance being based on payroll is a nefarious, stupid ploy to pay more taxes into the government is an ill founded stretch with no proposed recourse to correct the imagined malady… typical for a rant, but who doesn’t enjoy some mental exercise? Taxes paid as a fraction...

Tree related work you shouldn't need insurance for?

My GL basis is on payroll, not revenue. I pay thousands of dollars a month for other insurance policies, but GL specifically, so far (since 2003), is very silly to not have.

That seems to be the theme.
