Why Is It So Expensive to Cut Down a Tree?

Rich clients can swing the increase, but maybe not the average person. SP500 has about doubled in last 5 yrs for those of means who have large sums in equities, you don't pay tax on unsold stock but can leverage it. Adjusted numbers from neat graph $1.25 is $12.99/hr $6,900 is $71,680/yr...

    Happy New Year

Maybe I need to give them another go... Kidding, they hate me, but glad they work for you. Happy New Year, wishing everyone the grit and energy to show kindness to themselves and others, as well as the oomph to stand up to those that don't.

    Wtb 4x4 chip truck

Love the square bodies, worth paying a quality tech or that era aficionado to look it over. Could get expensive quickly at that age. Crispy brake/coolant/trans lines and couplers, mouse eaten wiring, color/smell of exhaust and how quick it clears, cycle to start for glow plugs, boot conditions...

    Wtb 4x4 chip truck

I have a '04 6.0 from VA which I had studded/deleted/head gasket etc before bringing it home. Few issues here and there (diesel anything is crazy expensive), had no-start after it was hot this Fall and had new HPOP and stand pipes put in. FICM and glow plugs a bit ago. Actually really like it...

    Wtb 4x4 chip truck

2020 was many yrs of rampant cost increase, $150/hr mechanic now vs $100 then, my mini was $28k then and $40k now! I'll give them a call though, got another quote for a Voth ~$20k just the box and hoist.

    Wtb 4x4 chip truck

Any one have one to sell or leads? New with chip body is ~$80-100k, got a quote for a 9' aluminum chip box ~$28k installed. Cab and chassis gas f500 is $55-60k or so. Love the short wb for our area. Treetrader etc have 20yr old trucks for $30k, man I hate vehicle decisions vs equipment!

    Bid that tree!

Took 28 man hrs: a day to rig it down, drop the peg, and winch up the logs, then a few 1 hr round trips of hauling logs and equipment, half hr of chipping. Mini made brush bundles and used the pto winch to twitch material up and around the septic.

    Cold and snowy climbing/ working

Couldn't make it up a steep paved hill with chains on yesterday morning hauling the 15xp, slick packed snow. Lowered expectation and $/hr with stressful rd conditions being the culprit is annoying AF. Drove the half hr back home and then we headed back via car with studs on to get part of the...

    Throw bag-line accuracy issues

Sometimes the late-release/straight-up miss I notice my elbow is too bent, if my arm is more extended the shot is lower trajectory. Also slowing the upswing just a bit. @southsoundtree the "bottom of the top of the window" vs just over the top of the branch comment is so good, I'm going to...
