    Climbing pants

Indeed, a bit overthinking. I have owned so many pants climbing trees which I stll do 5 days a week. I buy and destroy. If you see the Mammuts I am wearing most days, and I own many pants. They have holes everywhere. The crotch is lasting though. I prefer hiking pants to arb pants but certain...

    Climbing pants

I use all different brands. All non chainsaw. Have had all the arborwear early in my career. Then both Pfanner gladiators and globes. Both great. Then Sips geckos. Bomber. Then arbortec pros non chainsaw. Now I go between mammut lightweight hiking pants and those. But my advice are the...

Wtb silky gomtaro pro sentei 240

I live in hardwood city. See that prosenti, nothing nothing stays sharper longer. I have tried them all even the ichiban. Boy and do not mention palms, then we are on a new level of madness. I buy 1 new full saw and sawpod every year.

Wtb silky gomtaro pro sentei 240

We all have our favs indeed. Was not a fan of either straight or curved Tsurugi. Handles were nice though.

A prosenti is a special gomtaro. Fine teeth at the end. It is so versatile.

    New RopeRunner?!?

Get a hex tool one size up. Use a file and gently remove material from one edge til it fits very snug. Then use a small hammer and beat it in. Untighten, then replace the whole bollard. Use your ropewrench in the meantime. But be aware this might cause you to never use a RR again. Happened to...

    New RopeRunner?!?

100% agree. Someone on FB said the RR was the best device out there. I had to interject that no one device is the best, it is what might suit one's climbstyle over another. They are all good. Great to have choices. I carry 2 wrenches and 2 RRs to every job for the mere fact that I like choices.

    New RopeRunner?!?

Second this Dave. I prefer the OG over the pro. Not sure this can win me. I am a wrench guy so doubtful. I used the OGs I had for 6 years the went back to a wrench and honestly it's pros outweigh the RRs.

    Boots and boot care?

I endorse this. I use 5 pairs of boots in rotation. All various ages. Two I use for gaffs, they are mammuts and la sportivas. Scarpas for pruning. There just is no all round boot in my life. I tried but it was horrible. Boots get a chance for cushioning to rebound and boots stay fresh.

Anyone else wear some sort of breathing protection?

My sinuses are in turmoil lately. I been wearing a mask. Or a buff. Do not like it but is effective. I figure my tolerance for certain saw chips is getting the better of me.

You are a real saw whore. I love it. I only have 4 top handles. Will add the 542i shortly. Per your advice. Glad I waited as usual..

    The problem with tip tying

Keep it simple in most cases. That was an easy tree by the looks of it. 3 ropes on that piddle stick is asking way too much. Position of ropes was so off. Climber had no idea what was happening. Hopefully he improves his rigging scenarios otherwise it will bite him one day.

    72 Years Young

Genetics plays a huge role in how we are to care for ourselves. I watched both of my parents die youngish. 66 and 70. They were not my biological parents BTW. But had an old peoples mentality at a youngish age. I certainly do not have that at 57. I look and act way younger that many of my older...

    The problem with tip tying

His oblivion to what he just did, leads me to believe that he did not learn the error he made. That is plain ole horrible setup, poor roping too.
