What is the rule on rating and tags for slings and spider legs?
We've been working out some solutions for rigging and climber positioning for those times when the climber can't simply attach a sling and rappel down to where he will cut. For example a horizontal or drooping limb where the ball...
802,
Been looking for same thing. Hardest part, of course, is the database portion. That and the cost of gis accurate gps hardware
iTree comes close but doesnt offer much in the way of transactions and always seemed short in other areas as well.
Where in the 802 are you located? I'm near...
Crazy as it sounds not only do courts hold such things, they do it all the time. Of course each state varies. After all, such BS things as a burglar being able to sue for injuries suffered while breaking into someone's home and actually winning the case happen with regularity!
Be that as it...
Joe Samnik summed it up quite nicely at a presentation a few years ago. If you are in this business long enough someone will take exception to what you say and you will find yourself named in some sort of legal action. How you come out of that action is the question.
And Richard is correct...
Here are a couple of used clutches for my old lockjack. I'm pretty sure they are the 11/12 mm clutches. The are in good shape with only a little wear. I had replaced them because I had started using allgear's 24 strand when it first came out (no center core) and it was creeping so I thought...
Have a brand new, never used replacement clutch on hand. Gave up the Lockjack a while ago so I no longer need it.
How does $15 shipped (USA only) sound? PM me if interested.
Thanks for the heads up Merle.
I measured between the cheeks and it is 13/16th-inch and I ran a 3/4" dowel over the wheels. Plenty of clearance.
That said, if you are using rope that squares off or tends to flatten that may be part of the problem you are running into. Otherwise, CMI stuff...
Like new set of Selma fids. Bought them and never ended up using them. I think I tried them once. Anyhow, they are sitting on my bench doing nothing so here they are.
$65 shipped anywhere in US. (note these are also up for auction on EBAY so first come, first served)
PM me if you are...

This past week I've done about half a dozen eye splices in various 24 strand climbing line as well as several 16-strand E2E setups using the pseudo-Liros to help with the buries. The double-braids really benefit from tensioning the core. Coat the throat and part to be buried with fabric...
I'm sure this has been addressed, but I just can't seem to find the right keywords to search for and haven't found anything useful...yet.
Anyhoo, been playing around with throwing a pulley above my RW for limb walking. Been trying out secret weapons, single ring hip prussic even ascenders and...
I was thinking the same about the teflon, LR.
My major concern about KY is it will attract dirt and grit. Also, it is a glycol base so won't that stay around until it is washed away?
Been seeing a lot of thoughts on using lube for buries and using various means of setting tension on the lines for burying splices. Am curious of the thoughts behind their use and limits.
For example, lately I've been using unscented fabric softener as my bury lube. Not as slick as I'd prefer...
