Pulled 60' of 3/8 amsteel off winch that saw virtually no use. Except for some fuzzing on the end it is otherwise in great shape. Question is, what can I use it for?
I don't want to toss it but can't figure out what to do with it. In fact, it has been sitting in a box for 4 years!
Anyhow...
Moving on some more of our redundant gear. I've got a couple of CMI Heavy Duty Trolleys for slide-lining. Online they are going for $200+ each I'd like to get $165 each which includes shipping anywhere in CONUS.
I apologize that the pic is upside down
Been checking out X-rings and what else might be out there. I see that ABR has come out with their version as well as AllGear coming out with some as well.
Tree stuff has the X and ABR versions anyone know where the AllGear versions can be had?
Also, it seems that the X comes from other round...
Chris and I found ourselves setting up one of the trees for Geezers and I was using his Coats-tail method. He was jazzed seeing me use it and helped me work some details out with it. Love using it. Looking forward to getting my climbers to do the same.
Been looking at ways to back tie our speed line spar and am weighing a couple of configurations. One is to fix the slack line and back stays to the main spar and the other is to hang a block, run the slackline through the block and then anchor the end as a back stay.
The former is basic...
To narrow the question down:
For a basic, cinched canopy anchor without regards to retrieval, redirect or moving around:
why use hardware at all? What are the benes and downfalls? What are some of the ways hardware is used?
I've just been using a running bowline/alpine Butterfly/Figure 8 to create my cinch loop and run it up but I've also seen folks using various bits of hardware for their cinching such as deltas, pulleys and rings. I have also seen some set ups where the anchor isn't cinched tight around the limb...
I saw a prototype RW made from wood at the NATCC in Savannah 5 or 6 years ago. That was the first time I saw/heard of that particular style of SRT working in the tree. SRT Access, though, was something I had done with the triple prussic system when I was a kid back in the 70's. Not for...
Hi Jeff,
I've carried a bunch of stuff in them the elastic top made it nice getting in and out of them. I just stuffed 20 feet of 11mm rocket line into one of them. Rough dimensons are 10 inches wide by 3 inches thick
Bought a spool of the Bullseye and put it into a cube for one of our students and I don't think they ever used it, though I did use it a couple of times when my cubes weren't handy.
Anyhow, I have 5 throw lines of my own, the student is long gone and I don't need this line.
Send me a PM with...
