    Possible Mite Damage?

Swiss Needlecast and Rhabdocline needlecast are a big problem with Dough Fir but this tree is not presenting like either of them. I like the water/possible chlorine line the op is going down. Phytophthora maybe?

    Possible Mite Damage?

Are the trees planted near a roadside? Looks like salt damage. Mite damage will present as stippling on the needles and they are often chlorotic.

This bumper sticker: Tastefully comical or childishly insulting?

I would not put anything even remotely political, can be deemed offensive, or can get someones feelers hurt on a work truck, especially one to do bids. Your there to make a sale, and anything that can come in the way of that is not good.

Money makers :) They do come back nicely after a couple years of fungicide and can make for very happy customers when there tree is blue again.

    Hey Look at My Crud...

Never seen wetwood produce sooty mold like that though. Usually the sugars have fermented. Weird.

Can you tell if this is needle cast from this picture?

Needle cast will generally have purple needles with spores running along the stomata on the underside of the needle. Check for swollen black canker near the branch collars, could also be cytospora.

    Hey Look at My Crud...

Crusty sooty mold in on Red Oak. Reminds me of the same stuff from the Beech Aphid. Never seen it on Oak though.

Florel, Pinscher, PGR on liquidambar and similar

I just realized you are looking for a deflowering agent and not specifically a PGR. I heard of mixed reviews of Florel. I used Snipper with some success but the timing is crucial to it being effective. You basically have a 7-10 day window to use it or it does not work. I have been hesitant to...

Florel, Pinscher, PGR on liquidambar and similar

Looking at the dose chart on the Cambistat label Sweetgum is a "A" rate, which tells me it is easily regulated. I use PGR's primarily for the secondary effects of drought tolerance because of the increase in root density and the thickening of the leaf cuticle for improved fungal resistance...

    Hey Look at My Crud...

First time I saw that I was dumbfounded. A whole stand of Beech along a river just caked in sooty mold. Those aphid are different from the Woolly Beech Aphid common to European Beech, correct?

Contracting out EAB Injections -looking for opinions and advice

Definitely stick with the arbor-jet or rainbow q-connect. There is no issue with not using the plugs. G4 or ArborMectin is the way to go.

    LARGE Fungi on Crabapple

Looks like turkey tail or possibly Grifola frondosa. I’m leaning toward turkey tail though.

    Bandit 15XP Review (brand new)

We’re making them sound worse than they are. I still would take a 15xp over any other 15” chipper.

    Bandit 15XP Review (brand new)

The toggle switch that controls the engine rpm (idle to chipping speed) gets messed up from chip dust. I know another tree service that changed out 3 of them. The last one that he changed he put a bit of duct tape on the back side of the switch to keep the dust out of the switch. No problems...

    PHC business

Yes, there are companies that do just PHC but it is hard to get PHC leads if your not an established name in your area. Most companies sell PHC off GTC leads. I would hook up with a couple of tree care companies that don’t do PHC that can feed you some work. Do good work then refer them back any...

    Bandit 15XP Review (brand new)

That sucks to hear. I have to admit my experience was exactly the opposite. Bobcat of CT’s salesman picked up our unit at my house and brought it to the dealer an hour away then delivered it when it was finished. Couldn’t be happier.
