Interesting lift and lower of feed table itself. Wouldn't care to be lifting brush up to feed it at a downward angle. Could see that being very useful on the rare occasion I had to park chipper in a depression.
Not excited by the chipping action I see on that small brush. Hopefully the...
Remote control for tracking!
Levered handle to open spring infeed tension apparently. I've always wondered if that would be useful on a Bandit 6 inch I have to remove the occasional jammed material. And if you can lever it one way to lift the feed wheel I would think you could lever it the...
You're close enough to be a great starting point, thanks. Between your picture and the spec of something like 26 yards per hour capable chipping that looks like an interesting machine. And that engine was very capable on a 9 inch machine I rented one time so I'm sure it does great on a 7 inch.
Someone will love that thing. Wish specs said the actual max feed height and width. At first I thought it was a Vermeer pictured and would have a 6"×6" opening.
When looking at chippers previously I've asked how much putting any given Bandit on tracks added and they said about 30k at that...
...then turned down on a lathe for reasonable smoothness and checked at increasing RPMs for balance until it can run smoothly at full functional RPM. (That's me anyway.)
Good info. I do a lot to avoid sap as a result of using the A1 for years. And I am fortunate to have almost all of my work light on sap. The one time I did get into some when newly trying the A2 I went past it with relative ease. That would have been on Tachyon or Safety Blue.
Always surprised to hear of people having problems with usage since my A1's and my A2 all ran well right off the bat, switch between rope types and different sizes, and I'm not great at reading directions for adjustment of settings.
But isn't there a specific order to adjust the settings as...
Cops, like most of us, like success. Showing them you can locate and track a stolen item will be far more interesting to them than, "Hey my equipment was stolen, will you locate it and retrieve it." Unfortunately some sales job may well still be required.
I'll post into this thread later but just heard of one more option I didn't even know was a possibility - Cory shared 3rd feed wheel motor.
If you have a chipper built this info can make your chipper so much more useful.
There are all kinds of things you can have added to a Bandit in build. Most are not listed as options that I ever saw. Research, ask around, and ask more. Some things pay for themselves in time savings within a modest number of jobs where that option came to use.
Friend near me had a construction tool battery burn in and total a truck. Not sure of brand, aftermarket or stock, or abuse it was put through - so it can happen (perhaps).
Story facts are a little to fluid from him for me to try asking about it a third time or more.
Great thread.
I have been thinking of ammo boxes drilled to release overpressure (or cut off wheel slit to keep pressure release under lid protection) and insulation to keep heat spread down.
