    ITCC

Was an awesome day out there. Perfect weather after yesterday. Had to leave before the pushed-back masters, though, which sucks. Saw James K throw down something like a 14.11 which was pretty thrilling.

tree care co. vs. tree removal co.

[ QUOTE ] Plant health care (phc) is by far the most lucrative piece of any tree company (if they take part in it). [/ QUOTE ] No doubt about it. I've noticed that PHC is seldom price-shopped (at least in comparison to trimming and removals). For the client it is more about finding someone...

bought an AMP figure of eight and have a question

The figure 8s from Ace Metal Products likely use a cheaper alloy... compared to some other manufacturers that might use 7075 aluminum, which is harder and will last longer. I'm sure there are differences in the manufacturing process as well. ... and, yes, ratings and specs are often not...

    Indiana Mock Competition

Good idea, Brian. I talk to a lot of local guys that would like to compete, but are kind of wary for whatever reason. This should help get their feet wet. I'll put some flyers out for this at the shop.

    PMI saddle

Don't have one, but we've been mulling this one over online. Our biggest misgivings are the lower rings. They could stand to be beefed up. It'd be interesting to swap them out. Maybe ditch the webbing bridge as well.

Re: looking for good arborist in bloomington indi Mahk Adams is down there in Btown... or he was last I heard. (So are a few of my friends who just couldn't tear themselves away after graduation. I have one friend who has been working at the Texas Roadhouse down there for an amazing run of...

    Oregon PowerSharp

My oregon rep was in this morning giving us the run down on the Power Sharp. Seems like it is mostly aimed at homeowners based on the bar sizes and mounts initially available (14",16",18"). The A074 and A041 mount fits smaller Stihl and Echos I believe. He seemed to think they were feeling...

    Cash

[ QUOTE ] In the future (near term) I see the day when the top finisher of a local TCC could earn thousand(s) of dollars. [/ QUOTE ] I agree. Like any sport it is all about interest level and the number of eyeballs.

    Manual Locking Carabiners

That's the weird thing about these. They are auto-locking... unless you don't want them to be. They do the typical "pull down, over, and open" action... and to that extent they are auto locking because the biner will snap back to the locked position if you let go. But you also have the...

Shuffling through a huge box of stuff. Have some of the Rock-Os. Still hard to beat the DMM one though. I just like looking at that thing.

    Manual Locking Carabiners

You didn't get them from me, you pirate. (I just started carrying RE). But yeah I agree, Cary... this manual lock is sort of unusual. Curious about the specific reason/use for the manual lock. Didn't really see a blurb on their website.

    Manual Locking Carabiners

Has anyone used Rock Exotica's "Manual-Lock" Carabiners? The action is kind of cool, but my question to anyone who has seen or used one: do you consider this to be triple-action (double locking)? I'm sure the answer is yes, but I could see an arugment that it is anywhere between two...

    ArborWear Stretch Tech

Got some more info from the fine folks at Arborwear: Pants should be available in a month or so. Definitely before ISA. The retail will be $159.95.

    ArborWear Stretch Tech

Can't freaking wait. Two thoughts. 1.) $170 might just be the MSRP. I would guess they'll sell for below that figure. But who knows. 2.) If these things take off... I'd be shocked if chainsaw pants weren't next in line for Arborwear. Stretch pants are a much less expensive undertaking...

    Cash

I've been kicking this topic around with a few other guys recently. I'm wondering how common cash prizes are at the various comps? I know every comp is different. All things being equal... would you rather have cash than other types of prizes? Does it matter?
