Well, 3/8” EHS cable and 3/4” rods you should be golden for the rest of the trees life :LOL:. That might be overkill right now. It’s almost too bad that wasn’t cut out sooner. It’s it possible to subordinate one of the leads and cut it out at a later date?
Yep, that very thought has crossed my mind once or dozen times this weekend. I understand a brain fart once in a while but it’s getting more and more and just stupid shit someone new to the work would do but not a guy with seven years of experience.
I have about a dozen baby oaks that I mow around. Three of them are foot tall or slightly bigger. I figured let them grow and I can transplant them later if they live past the bunnies and deer.

Specifically for lifting. There’s a reason why chains have different grades. Grade 80 or higher is for lifting. Is a grade 70 transport chain strong enough? Yes, but don’t let OSHA see you doing that or you will find a whole new meaning to the phrase butt hurt.
