Get yourself an ipad and email them a digital estimate. Make up an estimate template and fill one out for each client then email it. All they have to do is confirm the work through the email. Keeps all estimates in one place, no stacks of paper and filing bs. Also cheaper than paper estimates...
Was on the fence between a 3/4 and a 1/2. Bought my tundra at a good price and love it. Tows my 6.5x12 10k dump trailer with anything I can fit in it no problem and under my tow ratings. Gets 15mpg empty or 13ish towing, 10 towing heavy. I have friends who grossly overload their tundras, 15-20k...
Saw the damage when I saw this vid. In the vid I saw about half of his face is gone including his entire jaw, but he was sitting up under his own power and seemed decent shape, especially for the hit he took
From 201 to 661 if the saw is being sent up, i do not want a scabbard on it. I also keep my saw attached to me with an RE transporter on my right hip unless I have 2 saws, then I’ll clip the one I’m using less on the back of my saddle. I haven’t really had issues to speak of with picking ropes...
After running the 462 all day cutting timber I can say i am impressed. The 661 sat in the truck all day, I had no interest in using it even in 30” dbh white oak. If it keeps this up I will be a very happy customer
I bit the bullet and bought both, 462 was $1050 and the 661 was $1425. 25” on the 46 and 28” on the 66. My motto is never feel bad for buying tools.
I do wish I could’ve landed the 661 for 100 more like you guys have mentioned.
I’ve always heard I get good deals for my saws around here from...
Well I went to my saw shop and priced out a rebuild from crank up on my 661. Yowza, $845 for parts from stihl. I don’t know the shape of the crank, only that the piston and cylinder have had it, saw is 3 years old run daily until I got my 461 that I use now to cut most timber and the 661 is more...
My 661 is toasted, worn out. The longest bar I run on it is a 32” but I use a 25-28” 90% of the time. I plan on rebuilding it eventually once I get some free time.
My question is for the 462 owners or users, how does the 462 compare with the 661, 461 and 441? I have a 661 and a 461 so I can...
My advice is Try as many harnesses as you can. I tried all the big ones before I found one that fit me well! A good fitting and feeling harness makes life so much better
There are the carbon fiber geckos, the Dmm geckos, and the original geckos. They are all very similar.
The notch geckos are completely different, different pads, shanks, and shin piece.
I’m not saying they’re good or bad, just my personal opinion of notch is pretty low.
I have a set of aluminum geckos. Not dmm. I wear tree gaffs and I feel they work well but I’ve been told I need to try pole gaffs so I may be trying to get some. I wouldn’t buy the notch ones because I’ve had mixed quality with notch brand. I like a few things they make but the majority I hated
I meant no offense just curious on the logistics of this.
I would think that it would be an alluring option for a retiree or such looking for part time work. I’m one of a select few who would love to run a stump grinder 2 or 3 days a week, but I don’t think many people like stump grinding
So they grind possibly 15-20 stumps per week for you and your company? And your stumps will take up 4 days a week? That doesn’t leave them much time to do their own work with the grinder, lot of maintence on them too. Less time when you consider they have to find and schedule their own work as...
