    ISA Arborist Certification test

I took the computer based exam a year and a half ago. It was my understanding that it was the same as the paper exam. It is the same format - same number of multiple choice questions, 250? I think?, within the same time limit. I don't remember the time limit. I took the exam at a 3rd party...

WTB: Ascenders & Big Shot Head

MooseHead - I think I'm actually already set with a Big Shot head...I spoke with someone via PM. Thanks for offering. Jman - that sounds like a pretty good trade to me. One question: If I set up a frog with a right foot ascender, will using your right hand ascender coordinate pretty well...

WTB: Ascenders & Big Shot Head

I also have a few odds and ends that I'd be willing to trade for the above... DMM PINTO Rig Micropulley with spacer (I've used this on a sling (not included) for lightweight rigging applications) Yale XTC Fire 13mm climbers' line with 1 tight eye splice by ABR, 200', 1 year of moderate use...

WTB: Ascenders & Big Shot Head

I'm in the market for a used left handed ascender and a right foot ascender. I could go with either CMI or Petzl. I'd also like to buy a used Big Shot head, if the rubber is in reasonable condition. It doesn't matter to me if it's a newer "generation" design or the original. PM me if you have...

    2-1 lanyard

thanks FS & countryboypa...those ideas seem like they would work well... my boss issued me a small stitched dyneema sling to serve this purpose, and it works great as a floating prusik. unfortunately, no dbl fisherman's to grab. maybe i'll just make my own. cheers!

    2-1 lanyard

Nice, Derrick...Any tips for how to keep that floating prusik from opening up and falling off your lanyard? I know some folks just loop it into the biner at the terminal end of their lanyard, but I use a snap just like yours, so that wouldn't work. Yours looks fairly snug around the rope...just...

    School talk

I did this once for my brother's 5th grade class. It was a blast. We went outside and did a little bit of tree ID for trees on the playground. They were really, really into the ID - I think there is something about knowing the names of things in nature that really triggers kids interest. I did...
