    ..........Slaying The Dragon!

By the way, can you tell me a little bit about setting your line with a hand-held sling shot? What kind of sling shot? What's the object at the end of the line? What kind of line? What's your range and accuracy? cheers

    ..........Slaying The Dragon!

You're hilarious dude. Great video - it's nice to watch rec climbers climb...helps a storm-weary production climber remember why I started climbing to begin with! If you're ever in Philly, there are lots of "draygons" to be slain near my house in the Wissahickon valley - tulips, white oaks, etc...

    husky 540xp carb problem

Does anyone know what serial numbers are part of the recall? Thinking about buying one of these saws in the very near future, and I would like to try and figure out how to avoid going through the rigamaroll of having taking it in for repair fresh out of the box... Thanks.

    SRT CLASS

That is a great idea. Let's do this thing! We should start throwing some calendar dates around...anybody?

    SRT CLASS

I'd come! I'd like to see some hands on demo's of efficiently advancing your TIP, as well as some discussion of how to plan a climb using primarily SRWP and how that would differ from planning a climb DdRT. Also, redirects, of course. I'm kind of using SRWP in a vacuum right now as I'm the only...

    Most static 16-strand?

For what it's worth, Yale XTC Spark is ok for a 16 strand rope. I've run the rope wrench on it quite a bit. It's cousin XTC Fire is super bouncy. Don't know why there's such variance in Yale's XTC 16 strands, but there is, so if you go with a Yale 16 strand, I recommend Spark. For what they...

    Echo 620p/680

Welcome to the buzz! We got two 620p models at our shop right after SE Pennsylvania got slammed with storm damage from an ice storm. I have one of them on my truck and run it with a 20" bar. I like that bar length and probably wouldn't want to run a 24" with it. I'm not exactly sure which...

    Chaps or pants

Just got my Pfanner Ventilation saw pants in the mail from Treestuff! Wow! What an awesome pair of pants. It's amazing how lightweight they are for saw pants. Can't wait to climb in them tomorrow. What a huge upgrade from the Husky pants I've been wearing intermittently for the last couple years.

    Echo CS-355T

One more plug: Did a fairly large Siberian Elm removal with it yesterday and it performed very nicely. The chain speed and torque on this saw gave a good showing. I think if more guys gave it a chance, "even thought its an Echo," this saw would gain some credibility.

    Echo CS-355T

My boss recently got a 355T and let me give it its first go in the field over the last several days. It's a nice saw! Ran pretty aggressive in a storm damaged 14" pin oak lead. Weight and balance and ergonomics all seem pretty good. Starts up like a champ in the cold - you can't beat an Echo...

    No more Kayland boots?

Does anyone have a source for buying Kayland boots? Sierra Trading Post and every other outlet seem to be "Out of Stock". I heard rumors that they are not distributing to the US anymore. I have a pair of Kayland Vertigo Duals that are now over a year old, and still have life left in...

    Some Pferd Questions

I like the Pferd system. But I'm hitting a few hiccups with it...so...if you have some answers to any of the below questions, I'd be grateful to you. 1) Are you only supposed to use Pferd round files in the sharpening system? 2) Do you occasionally have to round off the depth gauges still? 3)...
