I'm thinking of getting one to have a wire core lanyard set up as double ended double adjust with maybe another rope grab going the other way or a steel core prussic
Hi There!
I'm currently use the CE Lanyard from Teufelberger (and loving it!!) and was wondering what swivel by DMM people prefer added to their side ring?
Thanks !
Is it possible to use an English prussic underneath the rope wrench on a SRT set up?
And is it necessary to use the hitch climber pulley for the ropewrench set up or am I able to use another pulley I have in my kit already?
Thinking of introducing some SRT into my climbing system and really want to go with the rope wrench style etc, question:
Does anyone have some photos or ideas as to how they might rack the rope wrench etc onto their harness once up a tree and moving around of Ddrt etc?
Wanting to introduce...
Question though:
Does anyone use some type of swivel for their lanyard attachment?
I have a CE Lanyard and have thought of attaching a DMM Nexus swivel as the Carabiniere gets a little 'jammy' at times!
Thanks!
Think I'm going to go with the smaller DMM Axis swivel as a starting point and use the EYE that I've already got to go on the second bridge I've got (tree motion harness) for now :)
Thanks for all the feedback!!!
Question!
What methods or techniques would you use to bring a AFS or Treesqueeze to the ground while avoiding unnessacry impact on say concrete or hard surfaces?
Just concerned of damaging the equipment as it life saving etc.
This is awesome to hear!
I to am an early / young climber who loves all the different gadgets available for different applications to make the job easier, reduce fatigue and overall be safer and have more fun while I'm doing it.
But I find it quite a challenge discussing new techniques or gear...
Hi Colin,
Do you have two seperate pairs altogether ? OR are you changing the spikes over?
I ask as I've just bought my own set (apprentice here!) and not sure if I really want to rock the long spikes on certain palms and trees, but my first thought was is it going to wear the screws downs...
Great to know Tony, thank you!
Found a great video that shows the potential of it and definitely has me interested!
I have a job coming up requiring me to climb about 6-7 palms and some of them are so skinny they feel so sketchy to climb and get a good solid spike and if I was to have the tree...
Tony,
As we say where I am from "you're a bloody legend!"
Thanks so much for the input and responses!!!
Same great things here for me to think about and start adding to my system!!!!
Thanks for the referral!
Been looking at them all afternoon and can definitely see the potential!!
My boss seems to think they're a gimmick and just a gadget yet isn't keen to climb palms himself?
He recently had a gaff out in a paperbark resulting in slicing his palm, 4 days in hospital...
