georgio fiori has some video‘s where he is breaktesting various configurations with 9mm tenex, it‘s on his youtube. i don‘t remember if he‘s testing different splice‘s or just knot‘s.
i used to carry a throwball around for that but now i just tie a hangman’s knot with no bight… the joining of lines is a good one, also for switching out rigging lines. might be smart to have a dedicated piece of throwline for that, mine get shorter and shorter ;)
so i bought a pair vivo etc forest and used them yesterday for pruning, i like it alot!
the ascender strap‘s are more noticeable but so is the tree. i‘m not too worried about shredding them as they appear well build and cost the same as a pair of lasportivas (@Matias) also i enjoy walking...
roperunner pro, openable links… are you sure you don‘t want a protos aswell ;)
what do you like about the setup? streamlined and quick change of the bridge or is the bridge „behaving“ in a way?
how is that possible? when you look at a round filled chain it‘s pretty obvious that the top is hollow ground like an edge that you would grind on a tormek or other wheel-grinders.
if you lower with one carabiner as a terminal rigging point or 3, what will be gentler on the rope?
the rope is maybe flexing twice as much but only a quarter turn.
i agree, i‘d rather have two slings with one ring each than one sling with two rings..
