These guys are gonna crush it. Tele at height. Like the articulated spider lifts. Game changer? Not many body agreed with me when I proclaimed the crane grapple cutters were a game changer.
Some times I just cut shit when I should rope it and I just imagine nothing bad is gonna happen. More then not, nothing really bad has happened. Maybe a hole in the asphalt, smashed mailbox, dent on the rain gutter, limbs ripped off nearby ornamentals, fence rail bent, you know nothing that...
Sales pitch?
Got trees?
Love them or hate them?
Hate them? Care more about saving money? Don't care for our living environment?
Cut them all down asap. Install inorganic landscape that requires little to no upkeep. Enjoy your money.
Love trees? Love your organic environment?
Take "care" of...
How odd...I randomly watched that last night on my smart tele. Before I even saw this this morning.
Amazing!
A combination of sailing and milling I never imagined.
To go from hand ripping logs to multiple logs being gang milled while you watch and adjust stuff, what a step.
Education and marketing is the key.
If the market you want to work in does not exist...
Create your own market! Your imagination is the limit. Guess who has the time and money to care about trees...people with money, usually.
You want to fight for that nasty tree in the trailer park every...
I envy few jobs...helicopter pilots are one. One of my clients has one, $1,800/hr need a 4hr min last I asked to get it up my way, he flies folks from their planes to their lawns out of Boston. I always swear at them when they fly over me low! Trying to get my son excited about them so he can...
I have the stein kriegers, imho not impressed when compared to the current pfanner ventilations...especially for climbing. Sips are no where near pfanners. Steins are good pants but closer to the sips, as in being baggier and not fitting as well for a climber, at least for my lanky frame.
I'm...
Awesome pants. Doubt there are better. Right now I have five pairs of pfanners and one stein. Pfanner keeps updating every couple of years. The new gladiators have actual vents just under the belt area, stronger/less stretchy fabric on the front. Total ground guy pants!
You are side loading with a clam style grapple right? You don't have a bmg right? Have you used one? I'll bet it would make stacking logs more easy then a clam. I have never used a clam on a mini though.
Our dump trailer is boxed. 6' walls removable roof. I can stack 8'-12' logs easier then...
I remember some owners on the buzz set up an annual equipment/bonus fund. Let's say $1000 and two year round employees. Nothing lost or broken stupid and the fund gets split at end of year. This is added to the regular annual bonus. This makes a lot of sense when you start sending crews out...
Sourced at local Taylor Rental, buddy of mine owns it.

Originally they did make a mistake.

For real, arborists and treeguys are different. Imo.
We have a guy round here who claims to be and advertises the fact that he is the "unintimidated arborist". He only does bucket truck removals and hack trims.
How bout
Whack vs. prune
We sometimes use "whack" during walk throughs with customers when referring to pruning limbs. Usually old ladies. Only take a few times of saying it before the customer starts saying " yeah, whack off " this and that. The crew can't look at each other when it starts.
I held of for so long because everyone dents and scratches all my shit. Last year the day I said I was thinking of a new truck, a new guy gets in one of the one tons and runs the hitch on the chipper right along the whole side of the truck. Next day or so same guy puts the five gallon water...
Just bought my first new vehicle. 2016 f350 crew diesel. Cost more then my bucket truck. we make more money with a one ton then the bucket so...talk to an accountant. Ask about accelerated depreciation. Once you make enough money/are busy enough, you will lose money buying used equipment...
Make sure you verify the anvil has a good edge and is adjusted up to the knives. When you have good knives and anvil and they are adjusted properly the machine will chip amazing. Dull knives, round anvil and a big gap will beat on your machine. The trick to adjusting the anvil is bring it up...
