    Legends of real tree men

Levi, if this country upsets you so much, why don’t you move back to the homeland? While we’ve been cool on many other things and I really consider you a “good guy”, claiming shit like this can really piss people off. My family came from Irish and German immigrants. I really don’t know what...

Looking to buy my first knuckle boom crane with a grapplesaw.

Curious as well. Obviously something to consider as maintenance but could affect overall cost greatly

    Limits of safe lifting?

That was the conclusion I came to after talking with my neighbor about his shoulders. He did twenty years building scaffolding. 90% of that is above head level

    Limits of safe lifting?

I’d say to try and keep it 50-75 lbs. we’ve all been guilty of grabbing ahold of something we shouldn’t have. I’m good for 200 if I can flip it easily to my shoulder. Never used to be an issue. This past year has proved that I should’ve listened to my elders. My shoulder has a dull pain all the...

    Nast Nasty Tree

I’m confused. Two working lines? They originally killed the two crane idea. From my understanding, no one was tied to this thing except steve’s Grapplesaw. A climber “riding the pick” is considered the very last option and in reality should never happen.

Balancing and tip tying [seeing possibilities]

Are you sure. I pay my kids to go “borrow” them from the neighbors garden after dark. Shit couldn’t find a little ninja moji thinga ma bob. Tomato season is pretty well done here though

    This is the Akimbo

Hoping to. The boss wants a few of us to go. The way he is talking, I’ll be there as a non climber, shadowing the kaboom operators.

    Pick Weights

I think treehumper was the one that started it. Something about crotchwood maybe. I vaguely remember it

A knuckleheads review of the Rope Wrench

I don’t own one yet but you should get a wraptor. Your trees daily are 2-3 times mine in hieght and I’m debating it. Also @pctree needs to stay busy making those things.

A knuckleheads review of the Rope Wrench

I gotta use a wrench sometime. I own two of them. Just never tried them yet. I’m still very content with my HH and HH2. I don’t like change. It took me almost 20 years to get off of a taughtline and a weaver 4-D harness.

    notch triple thimble

I’ve never had it rotate in the sling to my knowledge. I’ve just quit using it on spar work. If that piece would’ve been critical, I would’ve probably had to sets of rigging on it and they would’ve been blocks. I have to try to keep everything longer than 8 foot for ease of disposal. Anything...

    This is the Akimbo

I like black. I drink jack daniels black and chew tobacco from a mail pouch sack, have an old dog that is trained to attack, sometimes

    notch triple thimble

It was 3/4 stable braid with a 10’x 30” red oak log. Basically the rope was to keep it tight to the stump since we were grinding and doing restoration. The ropeman only had 2 wraps on the porty so it wasn’t on his end. I think the safebloc oriented in the negative rigging to push the rope from...

    notch triple thimble

Wasn’t a critical scenario. We were just rigging to protect lawn. No big deal. Glad it happened there though

    notch triple thimble

I had the safebloc Lock off a load resulting in the rope snapping. Oriented wrong in a negative rigging scenario. Pinned the line to the spar.

    notch triple thimble

No he wouldn’t. He would just figure out how to get the most efficient pic out of the situation. Even though he’s a youngster that prolly won’t see or reply, he’s still close to a genius when it comes to rigging. The triple thimble entices me but the safebloc has slowed they enthusiasium...

Tree Climber Cuts His Hand With Chainsaw - "Viewer discretion advised"

Sorry to read that you got bit Kenny. The one handing debate is a dead horse. I have my view of it and no one will ever prove me wrong. Basically I’m a lazy fook. The V- notch is something else. I to have used it many times with no issue. Make it deep and round over the edges is how I was...

    holy SHIT !!!

Last one I broke wasn’t entirely my fault. OUPS was called and they had over 48 hours. The water wasn’t marked. Flopped a log right in top of the shut off riser. Got the phone number for the city water dept. I was on the phone with them when they pulled up to mark it. That guy was pissed. I...
