    Grand fir - chunking

Reg, snowy day here. Watching vids to help with boredom. What are you and you colleagues wearing for saw protection? The pants with the high viz reflector stripes on the bottom. Seem to be popular with you and the scotty tree crew.

    Chip Truck Question

Ask to get engine oil sample. My last used truck the owner let me take two, over a period. They can tell you whats going on inside based off any wear metals, or objects found in the oil. I use Blackstone labs for my samples. Besides, a cat engine, or any engine, will cost over 10k to...

    Fliplines

Three strand, self spliced, micro grab with spring removed. Can almost use the micro grab like a friction hitch this way with the three strand. Bomber and cheap. The stiffness comes in handy too.

    Equipment Question

Dont buy cheap junk and invest thousands into repairs. See that a lot. Spend what you have, finance the rest, and just put fuel and oil changes into it. Worked for me.

    Vermeer BC1000

The woodsman was a brush beast for its size. I would feed full tops that the mini can pull and it would crunch them up. Simplicity of the machine was nice. Did not like wood, just wouldn't toss the chips far enough. 6-8" was max on wood if you wanted to fill the truck. Dribbled out the...

    Vermeer BC1000

They are lame imo. They have no crotch crushing ability, my buddy is always trimming. I do think they chip wood very good, the feed system handles it nice and really throws chip. The complexity of the design is kinda silly. Plastic, electronics, just too much to go wrong. They are super...

So How's the Weather Up North?

Re: So How\'s the Weather Up North? Sorry to derail this thread but ya, all the above. If your preheating system is working properly, ether is not needed. Glow plug system, air intake heater etc. is usually enough. If batteries are good I can start any of my diesels. Oldest is a '96, the...

So How's the Weather Up North?

Re: So How\'s the Weather Up North? They say -10 with wind chill today. I don't think so, but still not working. lol Steve, I'm sure you know, but never use ether on a engine with glow plugs. Or any engine for that matter( in my opinion).
