What did you before? The typical fabric bag? What weighs do you prefer using? I’m modifying my design for the most common weights and resilience. Cheers
Thanks. I appreciate your feedback!
If you ever want to build one yourself give me a shout. It was a fun project. It was no great savings in money especially with the solenoid and laser. But I don’t care about that as I’m a ‘builder’. I also make throw weights with my 3-D printer which is in...
Good idea. There certainly is such a circuit and i left space in the main handle under the grips for additional circuitry if needed. Now why didn’t I think of that first. Lol
I’ll add this rare earth capture magnet which I’ll make a printed cover for similar in shape to the fatter ones. Subtract 7gm for the pedestal it’s sitting on. Scale won’t work with a magnet sitting on it it reads four times more. Lol
This is with steel shot. A previous post in this thread has the calculations for different fill. The ABS is so light it only accounts for a few grams so not important.
Thanks for the info. I’m Always looking to become better informed. The only problem with the hair trigger on the solenoid is the natural reaction to let go the trigger before the pressure chamber is completely evacuated. So then you need to burp the system afterward. I need to get it in my head...
Lol. If my choices are mercury over lead I’ll use lead. Jk. I’m pretty sure it’ll be steel all the way unless something nontoxic and heavier shows up that doesn’t break the bank like tungsten seems to. Pity that.
Sobrobotics and hydraulics huh? I guess that means you could make a pretty cool automated log splitter/sorter. I’m actually looking at getting a log splitter and I’m already thinking about how I can hack it.
No meaningful specs on Solinoid. That’s what you get out of China these days. No data sheets available. Its 1Mpa 12v. I Have a void in handle under grip for additional electronics if required. If I could’ve thought of the purpose for a Leonardo (Arduino) I would’ve put one there. Yeah I’ll keep...
