    How old was this tree?

I thought everybody has been to Uruguay, home of the 1930 and 1950 world cup winners, tannat, purportedly tango, and Palacio Salvo the twin to Palacio Baralo. Speak to Carlos Anaya in Buenos Aires, he is the Argentine expert on urban trees.

If this tree has significant root rot you have set yourself up for big problems if the tree fails. Don't assume any liability just because the client does not want to pay for testing/consulting.

If it has significant root rot you need to test with resistograph and a sway/tilt sensors. Why do you assume it has compacted roots? Would compacted soil not be more logical? Easy to test with a little equipment.

    How old was this tree?

Every single Melia I have seen in Uruguay has been topped, often multiple times. I think you are quite right that the tree is in the 100 year range. Also you need to consider the timing. Carlos Thays was active (primarily in Buenos Aires) in the late 1800s and early 1900s and tree lined...

    PERKINS PROBLEMS...low hour issue

If he does not know fungi and bacteria grow in diesel than he is not educated for the problem he is dealing with. I have dealt with multiple mechanics who claimed to understand diesels but did not have a clue. Waste of time and money. Of course you are right who cares.

    PERKINS PROBLEMS...low hour issue

HOw could algae grow in a closed dark system? By definition algae are photosynthetic. Perhaps you need to find a mechanic that knows that fungi and bacteria are a potential issue not algae. Back to the original issue, I think that you may have a dirty system that needs cleaning. Start with...

    Aerial Lift Fall Protection

Wow this is scary. I wonder if the harness and lanyard came with instructions? Fall arrest protection is accomplished through the dorsal ring. Fall restriction is accomplished through the sternal ring using a rope grab.

    Stepped back cut

Perhaps you need to research the history of why there is a raised back-cut. There is a reason the raised technique was developed.

    My travel diaries!

I don't know if you are asking for places with fall foliage or natural places in general. If natural places Okavango Delta of Botswana, Gold Harbor on South Georgia Island in November, Bailey Head on Deception Island. If fall foliage Ushuaia in March, any deciduous forest of Northeastern North...
