    725tx stuck/tipped

When I flipped our ditchwitch, we had to call a mobile mechanic to come out and show us how to pull the plugs and spray the oil out that seeped up around the cylinders. So when we cranked it up the rings didn't blow. This wasn't a full tip over, but be careful.

    Silky Handsaws

Only silky blade I broke was on a long boy pole saw which was being thrashed around. And I use the super skinny one too, tsurugi I think. I don't pound wedges with it tho!

    First order of business

Grapple truck for sure. In the mid west, right? Load that shit up and drive it away. One back up driver will let you slay all day or have a cake walk. We have 5-6 climbers, 3 trucks, 2 chippers, 1 ditch witch, 1 bucket, 1 dump trailer...the slow down is always hauling shit off and getting rid of it.

I Also love getting a box from Climbing Innovations. And the hhx comes with a lot of thoughtful extras.

What’s your favourite lanyard set up

Good anecdote! Peace of mind is a constant motive for a lot of precautionary behavior. Like checking the trailer AGAIN before you leave the job when it wasn't unhooked at all during the day...

What’s your favourite lanyard set up

I can understand using extra attachments in a large, wide tree to get around without lots of muscling around. A spar work position just doesn't call to me begging for more security or comfort. Also, increasing attachments will increase your difficulty in getting down in an emergency or rescue...

    Hitch hiker/2/x thread

I also climb on htp, and used viper, armor prus 8, epicord 9.3 and liked them all. The 8s were a little better??? It takes a mean muthafucka to grab that hard ass rope. Lucky Paul cox made sum nasty pieces

    Big ole Tree

I didn't watch yet, but the reason for 2 days, instead of just one big crane day is usually hauling capacity. I know we have done this before cuz it made sense to not put everything on the ground all at once.

Too true. The pulley really makes the hh2 extremely nice. I just didn't think the hhx had much to gain from something similar...the slick pin can roll up the rope pretty good!

    Hitch hiker/2/x thread

I do. First, the shackle has zero slop in the lower slot, and when the shackle inverts for tending, it hardly moves. Second, the rope channel is really well shaped and smooth so rope runs through really nice. On a swivel it tends easy any which way you yank the rope.

    Hitch hiker/2/x thread

I have both hitchhikers. I got Richard's cuz I liked the second version so much. I did find the tending to be really impressive. No pulley or holster or anything will make it better. As I recall, the shackle on the X is slimmer than the 2 body, but singing tree quickie shackles do fit the hh2...

DIY Tree Squeeze - Share your ideas

2 of my coworkers have fimbls. Love them. I am also in the srt boat. As for JeffGu... too much stuff! That squeeze thing prolly falls down so good cuz its heavy af. Rope works fine for me. Butterfly + quickie is my choker tie in. I do have an adjustable ring saver....never use it. 10 mm oceans...
