Hitch cord <8 mm

I've been using ocean vectran 6mm as my lanyard adjuster for years, and my last bit is in need of retirement soon. Looking online I can't find any climbing hitch cord under 8mm. Anyone know why? Ansi change?

There are definitely sub 8mm yacht lines that meet the strength standards, but is prefer to stay on a cord marketed to tree work.

Ideas and more info appreciated.

There many fine lanyard setups for sure. I mostly prune medium spreading hardwoods and like using a 10mm lanyard fir the compactness and weight. I like the extra grippyness that the super small cord provides.

Just wondering if anyone knows why no 6mm on market right now. Teufelberger must still make a small hitch cord for their various friction savers...

Some reason I should not be using 6mm hitch, other than inconvenience?

A year or two ago I contacted them when it disappeared and they said they could possibly get some for me. They do make 7mm for their various premade products, but haven’t seen anybody selling it by the foot.
Marlow makes the 6mm Excel Elite, dyneema core, and Technora and polyester cover. Robline has the 7mm Coppa 5000, with the same ingredients, but seems to perform a lot better.

Found some 6 mm Teufelberger prusik cord...not sure it is exactly what you are looking for because it is 100% nylon. However if it is strictly for lanyard progress capture with no intentions of using it for climb line hitch cord then it is more then adequate.

What does thaw ansi have to say about using line not specifically manufactured for arbo use? If it meets all other requirements...

I have been waiting 2 months for Tree Stuff to ship 8mm HRC. No one knows when the orders will be filled!
What other cordage do you like to use that you like as much as HRC?

Yep! Tree stuff has Epicord on back order also! Teufelberger must be having some problems at the factory!
From what i understand, they are. I was trying to peice together a dedicated hitch climber kit with Slaiced 16 strand T-Vee & was told by a vendor nothing is being made right now.. idk if it was strictly overseas or here as well.. but special orders for what i wanted were out of the question.. This was about a month ago.. If anyone at T-berg ever decided to respond to inquiries, I'd probably have a better answer..

Id follow Brockys suggestions regarding sub 8mm hitch cord.. As he's tried them ALL & sourcing it from the Aussie's would probably be pretty expensive depending on the exchange rates & shipping.
