@monkeylove when you get to the point you need or want a dump. I totally recommend a mindsota (I think the spelling is wrong). They build a superb trailer at a great price.
LVL works superb and can be found in scrap pieces at local lumber yards and job sites. It often comes much longer to job sites than needed and at lumber yards it is bought in 40' lengths.
We safety wire a ton of our shackles latched. Super easy and quick once you learn how. I do the same thing when I tie into a shackle on a ball and wouldn't have it any other way. I can make a video and send you Steve if you want.
You should be able to purchase prescription safety glasses I know Wiley X and Oakley amongst others I am sure make then both tinted and non. My guys at work get then issued once a year or so. Depending upon breakage (normally due to carelessness)
Check with a company called IMT Transport out of Garner IA they are super familiar with transporting that sort of trucks. I think it's Jonny or Donny that is the dispatcher also my FILs cousin they are always looking for loads like that. They are good people quite fair on rates.
Steve I will do some checking for you I have a tree job to do for a dot gal soon. Also I used to drive truck and my boss there was super up on laws he should be able to help.
Daily yes! I would bet you will need a DOT number due to the weight and the commercial ness of the business. MC number you prob will not as you are not a transport for hire.
