    It was also -26c plus wind chill, so keeping everyone moving kept us from freezing to death. Crane op felt bad sitting in the warm, so he opened the door and put his gloves and jacket on. Great dude.

    Personally with a big crane I like to go smaller most of the time, so one choker. Did 6 90' 85-130cm dbh previously topped (very hairy) poplars last week. Used 60ton (jib and stinger) and our rear mount elevator. We were right a 1500# all day, and under 5min pick cycles. Could have gone bigger...

    My paystar with a 475 hp cummins isx under the 13100h went everywhere at the speed limiter. Biggest difference was the fuller 18' a gear for every occasion and grade. Might be something to look at.

    Long branches with few dominant laterals (poplar)50deg.and less I like to stand up, anything steeper is easy to choke with one sling. But anything bushy with lots of beefy laterals that's gonna roll around on the stump I like to balance.

    In much broader terms transport from shop to job site/ inter job site, I prefer a self propelled, fossil fuel consuming conveyance, preferably with wheels numbering 4 or greater (any less and the ride becomes unstable).

    Ocaa is only doing 3 1day 0-8 ton ass covering classes. Which I don't even want to draw attention to. Seems the cool thing to do up here recently is to send your guys to an 8 ton course and then turn them loose with a 55 + ton machine. And just because the fly jib isn't rated for more than 8 ton...
