    DMM Harness

at the point where you would switch out the „internal“ webbing, the belting material(with all them little slots and holes) is probably worn out.

    hobbs 2000 lowering device, questions..

hello, i searched the forum but couldn’t find the information.. somebody offered me a hobbs 2000 device with the straight drum and rollerbearing fairlead at the back of the drum for a good price. if i recall correctly, there where rope overlap problems with this design. or did they solve that...

    Preferred method for solo rigging

double whipping decreases the forces on the rope-slings and on the tree, that is always a good thing :)

i‘ve snapped slings twice, both were 3/4“ tenex and undersized for the load.

    All the small things…

a non-clear empty washing-detergent bottle makes an excellent car-pee-bottle (for people with a penis), i‘ve used clear 1 gallon waterbottles but they start to look bad quite quickly.

    Preferred method for solo rigging

i only self lower with a porty when there is no stub left (drifting larger wood into another lowering point) or when i want to lock the load off, possible with stubs but more convenient with a porty.

    Best Spurs

hello sean, no problem to go this high/thin, no stability issues and felt very comfortable. i also tied into the maple cluster slightly overhead and to the side. good for you that you have the freedom of choice and good for me, too. :) greetings

    What’s Your SMALLER Equipment Setup?

they already had to weld the frame/chute on this thing because of all the vibration. a bigger engine will likely increase that, maybe?

    What’s Your SMALLER Equipment Setup?

i sometimes work for a guy who is using this setup instead of dragging branches to the street, even though the chipper can be a bit finnicky it definitely beat‘s dragging (and cleaning the path)

Zigzag Plus and other Petzl on super sale

no need for a steel biner, tie a running bowline with the spliced rope and clip your now srt line into the regular old aluminum biner (maybe even with a munter). no sideloading and no extra gear required.
