    Euro tracked chippers.

those eliet and other tiny chippers are specialized chippers and definitely have their place but are a different animal than a 8“ tracked unit. i have an old 8“ jensen on a turntable trailer and if had the right jobs i would add a tiny chipper but never replace.

    New RopeRunner?!?

i think people will redirect the rope through a biner before routing into the moving pulley to solve that problem.

    Another aerial friction rigging device?

treebing has one on youtube i think. other than that, i don‘t know. sometimes with light pieces it can be difficult to let the work down and the locking sheave version probably doesn’t help. and it needs the room to engage, seems like that is a benefit of the downrigger. other than that the...

    Who's making the "Hold Fast"?

also regular harken winches have internal plastic parts (i learned that the unpleasent way) greg good orders his all aluminium/metal excluding the bearing.

    Who's making the "Hold Fast"?

it‘s tiny, a harken 40 or similar is already small and they use a 20. in my eyes this is 5:1/portawrap territory. often times the 46 of the grcs is underpowered and a doublewhip is necessary …

    Today....

you could take wraps in the tree or in the carabiner (when you are concerned with bark damage)

Port a wrap spliced onto a loopie

also you loose versatility or atleast it would‘nt be as clean when using it shackled to a truck or whatever
  13. Friedrich

    Blue 32!

i‘m pretty sure that a splice only needs to have 15kn mbs in europe for certification. need to check… i prefer full strength splices for sure

Ultra sling vs deadeye: double the strength?

i think the people at hownot2highline said something along the lines that droptower vs. slowpull numbers are pretty equal

T542i advice for longer and better using

@Mick Dempsey what‘s your take on the 542‘s?

T542i advice for longer and better using

maybe my understanding isn’t correct but since the electric motor is only spinning when triggered and the clutch is engaged, this needle-bearing won‘t see much motion. unlike a petrol engine which is spinning when idle (clutch not engaged)

    barefoot shoes for climbing?

interesting. my first pair of vivos are pretty shredded except the sole, the sole would outlast another set of upper parts. also they (vivo) say that you can replace the laces and insole as the only way to fix them atm. laces are in perfect condition. but anyway they are the most comfortable...
