Anyone use a mini excavator for tree work?

We have an excavator, but not exactly a mini. It's weights in a bit north of 100k lbs. Not exactly something we use on residential jobs.

    Fu*%face Von Clownstick

We are on our way to a dictatorship. I read reports that CBP was not following the federal court orders at many airports.

    Beware of Schmidy's Machinery

Just wanted to throw my experience with joes out there. I have called them twice and both times was told someone would call me right back in regards to the truck I was looking for. Still waiting....

what do you condier high hours for a bucket truck

5000 hours does not seem high at all. I don't think 1000 hours per year on a bucket truck is uncommon. Does anyone know how many hours manufacturers expect out of a boom?

    Best used 18" chipper

The Vermeer 1400 was a flop. I was under the impression that Vermeer purchased back most of the be 1400 due to design flaws with that machine. The one I used could never throw the chips to the back of the truck. Always had problems.

    Best used 18" chipper

I know most people will eat me alive for this.... I really like the Vermeer bc1800. Most machines of that size are pretty nice. The important thing is to get one in good shape.

    Wtb: bucket truck

Florida. I have purchased stuff from far away in the past. Close is good but not a deal breaker. Shipped a bucket truck up to South Carolina not to long ago for a decent rate.

They do come in a variety of different hp rating, from 210 to 350, if my memory serves me correct.

    Wtb: bucket truck

Looking to add another bucket in the near future. I had one lined up but it ended up not passing the inspection on the engine. I figured I would check on here to see if anybody had anything they were looking to unload. Open to altec, Terex or versalift.

Cat 3126 Diesel and other l6 industrial diesels

I have had both 3116 and 3126 in the past. Like stated above, solid but slooowww. I am probably pulling the trigger on a truck with a c7 this week, basically the newer version of the 3126.

2006 Hino with Copma 140.5 and large Chip Body

Seems like it was actually a hell of a good investment if you can get about the same money for it three years later. One day, far far away, I would love to have a larger version of that truck.

    Outriggers work...bucket won't move!

There is usually a switch on the outriggers telling the system that they are down. If one of them is not working the boom will not move.

Come see the amazing compost and mulch chopper thingy.

Nice! What does he charge per day? We purchased an old Peterson grinder and all the toys to support it early this year.
