Just wanted to throw my experience with joes out there. I have called them twice and both times was told someone would call me right back in regards to the truck I was looking for. Still waiting....
5000 hours does not seem high at all. I don't think 1000 hours per year on a bucket truck is uncommon.
Does anyone know how many hours manufacturers expect out of a boom?
The Vermeer 1400 was a flop. I was under the impression that Vermeer purchased back most of the be 1400 due to design flaws with that machine. The one I used could never throw the chips to the back of the truck. Always had problems.
I know most people will eat me alive for this....
I really like the Vermeer bc1800. Most machines of that size are pretty nice. The important thing is to get one in good shape.
Florida. I have purchased stuff from far away in the past. Close is good but not a deal breaker. Shipped a bucket truck up to South Carolina not to long ago for a decent rate.
Looking to add another bucket in the near future. I had one lined up but it ended up not passing the inspection on the engine. I figured I would check on here to see if anybody had anything they were looking to unload. Open to altec, Terex or versalift.
I have had both 3116 and 3126 in the past. Like stated above, solid but slooowww. I am probably pulling the trigger on a truck with a c7 this week, basically the newer version of the 3126.
Seems like it was actually a hell of a good investment if you can get about the same money for it three years later.
One day, far far away, I would love to have a larger version of that truck.
