Hello Aerial Traveler,
In this exercise, I’m not planning on returning to my original tie in point. If I have the opportunity/concept right, I was hoping to keep moving through the canopy, and retrieve my line with a couple redirects in place.
Good evening.
Tow days of climbing where I began with SRS. I'm a bit confused on how to advance once I'm in the canopy next to my TIP.
With the SRS, I'm confused as to how to advance to another limb a distance away. When I climb MRS, I simply lanyard in, then throw a new bag and or the rope to...
Hello All,
A bit of yesterday. It was going to be a scorcher here in northern California...as we hit triple digits 30 miles north of San Francisco, so I got to the trees at 7:30AM.
I decided to start SRT, and tossed the throw bag, catching the limb I wanted, but a pesky little one as well...
Not sure about other parts of the country, but here in Northern California where fire suppression is a big deal, there are lots of shepherds with herds of goats or sheep hired to eat the brush. I think it comes at a premium cost. Quite effective.
Hello. Been there, done that. Super happy. Like 100%....
The Weaver Elastic Suspender arrived in one day! They're awesome, and fit on my Petzl Sequoia (MRS) nicely. They're a very stout elastic. In no way do they sag under the wait of the harness. I think the hipless amongst us will be pleased...
Good morning, All.
I tried the mag throw bag. Granted it was a homemade version, but it didn’t work for me.
I agree about the copper edges. I rounded them, and glued caps on them. Also, as it’s soft and malleable, if I press against it, it just bends, and I bend it back to a reasonable hook...
Hello All,
In addition to a throw bag and line, I also carry a homemade grappling hook. I find this tool comes in handy with great frequency.
Today I was climbing and I wanted to traverse to another limb that was at my same height in the tree. There was a limb in between the one I had selected...
Well, the laces worked, so I'm optimistic. I'm thinking of taking my idea to Shark Tank. Imagine how many arborists are out there, who would be willing to pay .10 cents for my little nylon loop.
Anyone want to be in on the first round of investing?
Smile.
Hello All.
Back from an awesome climb. Lost my foot stirrup for my knee ascender. Clipped into my shoe laces for the remainder of the day. Came home and sewed this little loop, and integrated it into the lacing of my boots. Not sure why I didn't do this from the beginning. Just clip in with my...
Hello All,

The Tree
I mentioned in the video that I can see the tree from my office:
