Thanks for the input. I will probably go with the croll, seems like a no brainer in terms of versatility. I like the separate footloop idea, sounds simple and unobtrusive. I am certainly not against a neck tether, especially on a fairly clear ascent. I'm currently thinking of connecting to...
Looking for some advice on setting up a knee ascender. I've tried searching to no avail... My idea is a petzl basic or rope man, set up with a running bowline foot loop. My only problem is how/where to attach a bungee tether (i'm assuming?) to tend the ascender. I only SRT with the rope wrench...
It's all good Bix. Like you, I'm here to learn and enjoy the arborist community and sharing. Maybe our views differ in some ways, but in the end it's not worth squabbling over. My original post was pre-coffee, so it probably came off more harsh than I meant it to. Alohas!

depending on the areas where it was broken, fiberglass repair is relatively easy, as mentioned. Quick cure resin can be used and a fix can be prepped, glassed, and sanded in under an hour.
Big pieces don't mean anything. Fast, safe, and efficient. There are times to go big, times to go small. Cuts/notches has little to do with piece size, it's about understanding rigging systems and the forces involved and being comfortable working in those parameters.
