    Rayco AW1800

Has anyone here demoed or owned a Rayco AW1800 wheel loader? I’m trying to set up a demo with my dealer but would appreciate any firsthand experience from you. Pros and cons. Thanks!

    Hooklift tips wanted.

I agree. Mats are an essential tool and its great to have them on board, but chip capacity is everything. You'll use that every day.

    Hooklift tips wanted.

If I had seen this thread earlier I would have responded to you. Jack at Timberland is excellent to deal with. He builds quality bodies and takes the time to make sure he understands exactly what you want. He is very knowledgeable with hook lift builds. I had him design and install a chip...

    Anyone use a rangefinder?

Steve, For me, having a knuckleboom, I only need to know the distance from my turret to the tie in point. That tells me what my capacity will be at that distance. As I get lower on the tree, the amount (length) of boom required generally decreases. In the event of a house being in the way, I...

    Anyone use a rangefinder?

    Stihl 261 vs Husky 550xp

I have both and prefer the 550. I use it on crane removals daily with a 20” bar. It has very respectable power and accelerates quickly. Both the 261 and 550 have muffler mods, which definitely help. I prefer the handling and balance of the 550, but that’s just me. The 261 is my backup, but I...
