yo @swingdude where did you order that harness for your son from? I feel like your son is about the same size as my nephew and I want to get him a real harness that comes with side ds so it seems your son fits the sequoia size 0?? I was gonna get the new tribe twist and add side ds to It but I feel hed love the sequoia..

my nephew is like 11 or so and probably bigger than sam but hes short for his age and very trim. i could maybe get away with small sizes of mens haRNesses

My kids saw me busted up so many times from tryin to keep up with pro riders, that it pretty much traumatized them.

That said, none of them broke any bones from riding their mini bikes either.

This is a wicked n dangerous biz, that I'm glad my kids want nothing to do with. I sorta kinda most definitely planned it that way......

I’d like to see my two get more into rec climbing, if they don’t take risks, learn good technique, and pay attention, it can be incredibly safe activity. They’ve done it a dozen times or so, they have fun and they listen. It’s up to them.
They both ride the little yfm80 quad and TTR90 bike too. The boy is outgrowing it. Trail riding is relaxing and therapeutic too I think. They like their phones and video games too, but they’d rather be outdoors anytime. We mix it up.

I would be worried for them always if either one tried pursuing a career as a working climber.

Probably not happening anyways. My son is really into diesel mechanic stuff, he’s in school for it half the day and the other HS classes the other half of the day and wants to go to some tech school after he graduates next June. My daughter is 12 and likes art and photography for now, too early to say what she’d be into after high school but safe to say it probably won’t be tree care lol.

It takes a certain something to be a climbing commercial production arborist, and even moreso a strategic removal specialist.

Like a melding of physical fitness, coordination, strength, reflexes n dexterity, not easily found in the general population.

Even motocross is a far more forgiving occupation than takedown climber, in that just one mistake on any given day'll kill yu quick.

We can't afford to crash period!

Putting sub par folk's up in trees?

Makes my knees knock.....

@Mowerr and @southsoundtree Sam.uses a sequoia size 0. Lower snd side Ds. But a couple months after I bought it I took him to the new skatepark. Needless to say he has not climbed since. Man is hooked on skating the bowls. He skates 7 nights a week as he goes to a special school where homework is done at school.
Wellllllll, if he out grows it or decides to keep skating instead I'll take it off your hands for ya. can u order that size from anybody or was it hard to find?

Skating and climbing trees. What could possible go wrong?

Some skinny ass ginger getting ready to grind some deep end cope in a pool somewheres in Santa Cruz in the mid 70's. OP shorts, OJ wheels, and some OG blue and red Vans. Fuck yea!!!

I grew up on a skateboard. At the time California was full of the best skaters in the world and I road around the likes of Tony Alva and other legends. Cruising up and down California, smoking weed, skating empty pools and full pipes, breaking our bones and cracking our skulls. For me climbing trees for a living was a natural progression.

I am utterly blown away by where the sport has gone. The kids these days are some of the best athletes I have ever seen, and they are doing shit that was simply unimaginable in my time...
