Im going to demo a SK1550 Aswell.
We run a 16' dump trailer. Its nice to be able to load the front with logs, and still have room for the machine. I made ramps for my F550 and my SK800 fits perfect. I think you would be hardpressed to fit a SK1550. If space is an issue like working in a city I...
-Ya I I was thinking of doing 1/8" plate so it doesn't add too much weight. With a deck I will also be able to keep my mini on board close to the loader and stuff logs in the front. Was planning on welding the areas outside the frame solid, and the stuff over the frame add a hinge so i can flap...
Yes, The loader is a bit loose on the frame and needs either the bolts replaced or re-torqued. Im bringing it in to have that done, and have it looked over.
Just purchased my first log truck. Its a 2003 Freightliner FLD120 with a 2016 Serco 8500 loader. Its in fair condition, with plans to make it really nice. Paint the cab, sand blast the frame, and remove and fix up the log bunks. First problem I see is that is has no fenders on the rear wheels...
I bought a label maker. We print out stickers with mileage and hour in top right corner. We change oil around 5000miles or Sooners if it’s the buxket because it runs so much more than all the other trucks. They all get the grease treatment when we do oil.
I had a bad seal by the operator controls. Just saying when and if you get a leak, address it. Be sure to remove the radiator shield and get in there and wash the machine. I was getting a thin layer of oil and it would cause dirt to cling to radiator. Basically address oil leaks and wash the...
My fronts were 900hrs, rears were 960. Deff replace front and rear together. I have just bought the whole hub assembly and replaced em, good to have a few on hand. They are a pain to remove because they rust in. I just bought two new machines. I’m going to take all the rollers off while they are...
Dang, sad to hear. Gotta be focused all the time. Thanks for the share. Im going to pass this along to my guys. Gotta talk safety all the time, too dangerous not to.
I climb on Climb Right Spurs. I decided to try these a few years back, but I could never get adjusted to the spur angle. Looking to trade for Climb Rights or Stein Aluminum Climbers. These are in very good condition. They have a handful of climbs, never been sharpened or re-tipped.
I made these for my old truck. Make sure you design them so they swing all the way out a lock. It’s convenient to leave them open sometimes if you a moving logs that are longer than your truck.
