    Covid Close To You

Not “Nuff said” actually. I presume you are making the case that lockdowns are effective with that comparison. If that were true why does Sweden have a lower death rate than France, Spain, Italy and the UK? Why does Florida have a lower death rate than many states that locked down? If you would...

    Covid Close To You

@Tuebor It is really shameful that you would minimize the damage these lockdowns have done buy listing all of the places you have been able to visit and all the things you've been able to do through this recent time as if there aren't people who have lost everything as a result of the...

    Municipal VS Self Employment

Another big consideration is the market in which you plan to start your business. There are huge differences in income potential depending on where you are. Big cities tend to have higher end property with more disposable income and a way higher volume of clients.

    Municipal VS Self Employment

Thanks for starting this thread @macrocarpa. This is a conundrum I have been wrestling with for a while now. I am currently employed municipally and have been, full time, for nearly 10 years. I started private, full time, in 2004. I worked for Davey and some smaller companies before going...

    New truck search

I have a solid tri fold tonneau cover on mine. I like it because I can have full use of the bed with nothing overhead, unlike with a cap. This makes it easier to load wood in my truck if needed. The trade off is less weather protected storage for my gear when it’s in there.

    New truck search

I am in a similar situation to you with regards to employment and side work. I have a regular job as an arborist with a local municipality and I run my own business on the side. I have thought about the options for equipment more than is healthy and I decided on a 2019 GMC Sierra 2500 HD with...

    Toronto contractors ripped

Davey, Weller, Ontario Line Clearing are the main three I'm aware of. I Think Weller is mostly doing removals so I don't imagine they are guilty here. It's pretty hard to say you did a 100+cm dbh removal and not do it.

    Toronto contractors ripped

For whatever reason, Toronto does not divert the necessary resources to clearly identify the scope of work. If they did, they would be able to put together tenders for a defined scope of work which would be billed at a flat rate thus incentivising efficient completion. Instead, they just know...

    This ever happen to anyone?

There are so many variables when it comes to quoting jobs - one of the most important being the local market for tree work. That job could be double or half the price depending on location alone. Also, what is the access like? Also makes a big difference. Are they keeping the wood? Assuming...

Hydro One worker killed while felling a tree

https://globalnews.ca/news/5081483/hydro-one-forestry-worker-dies-in-accident-north-of-haliburton/ Details are scarce as they always are with news releases but I heard through the grapevine that a dead top broke loose and came back at the worker striking and ultimately killing him. 3 others...

    Shingles vaccine

https://thevaccinereaction.org/2018/09/new-supercharged-shingles-vaccine-has-serious-problems/ The article above has some interesting information about that Shingrix vaccine and provides references for the claims made. Like all pharmaceuticals, there are risks and side effects associated with...

    Working in Canada

Western Canada is a pretty big place so you might want to be more specific as to where you are going. I'm not in Western Canada (I'm in Toronto) but tree work generally slows down in the winter everywhere across the country. If you are looking for winter work, the only companies that typically...

Help identifying what kind of boom I have

Nobody here has bashed you, nobody said you should give up on life, and nobody said anything about not liking that you believe in Jesus. You came here presumably looking for advice from people that may know more than you about what you have asked. You then made the claim that, essentially, the...

Help identifying what kind of boom I have

This is such a succinct description of what is wrong with faith. Try to get a hydraulic lift manufacturer to do a safety on that boom. They won't. That should be reason enough to scrap it. Good luck man.

BC1400 Infeed roller gap/spread. Tightening issue.

Being that you are a service tech, why don’t you say which lubricant is best instead of just telling him to use a better one. The sticker on our machine actually says wd-40.
